Build a community

Women and girls in Canada have come a long way, thanks to the hard work of previous generations. But far too many women and girls are still trapped by violence, poverty, and rigid stereotypes that limit their potential. That’s why we continue to bring together women and men who believe in gender equality. The community we’ve built is big and diverse and creative—and ever growing.

Its foundation is the community groups we fund to help stop the violence, end poverty, and empower girls. Its energy comes from people—the women and girls who attend our programs, the front-line community workers who deliver the services, the grassroots leaders and other experts who guide the work, our Board of Directors who provide leadership, and our donors who want to change the world.

These dedicated women and men are the heartbeat of our community—they take action to make it all happen, whether they give their time, money, ideas, or energy. When people with shared values work together and pool their resources, anything is possible.
