Nominated by: YWCA
Angèle Bouffard is the coordinator of leadership programs for YWCA Québec. The five part program Leaders et décisionnelles(leaders and decision-makers) is intended to create more space for women in decision-making bodies. The program is for women and young women between the ages of 17 and 25 and includes workshops, mentoring, co-development, conferences with inspiring role-models, activities and networking. Through the program, women can acquire tools and develop skills and abilities that will allow them to take part in decision-making processes and play key roles on boards of directors. A targeted accompaniment and support process offered to organizations allows the YWCA to adapt concrete tools and good governance practices to help these organizations reach gender parity in their decision-making bodies.
Angèle has a long track record at the head of various organizations and companies, as a consultant and manager in international development and in parliamentary diplomacy. She has shown herself to be a committed advocate for the advancement of gender equality, particularly when it comes to women accessing decision-making and political positions. She teaches Global Management at South America’s Social International University. She has also held seats on nine boards of directors and various issue tables.
