Dalya Israel is a feminist, a rape crisis center advocate, and a mother. After finishing her BA in Women’s Studies from the University of British Columbia with a focus on Critical Studies in Sexuality in 2005, she started with WAVAW full time in the Victim Service Program where she is the Manager today. Dalya has spent the last 13 years working alongside women to navigate the Medical and Criminal Justice systems after their assault. Having the opportunity to work with individual women has also allowed her to bring women’s voices forward in circles of influence in order to highlight systemic barriers that survivors of sexual assault experience in both the Medical and Criminal Justice systems. She is very passionate about supporting the survivors WAVAW serves to access Justice in meaningful ways after a sexual assault.
