Alia Hogben is a social worker who, for many years, supervised for the province of Ontario the various service agencies for child welfare, children’s mental health, and adults with developmental disabilities. She also has experience working with service agencies that address violence against women and girls, and taught at a community college.
Alia writes a regular column for the Kingston Whig Standard on issues of Canadian Muslim women and is currently the Executive Director of the Canadian Council of Muslim Women. Among the many awards she has received, she is a proud recipient of the Order of Canada.
