Gisèle Dallaire grew up in Alma, Lac-Saint-Jean. She has a Master’s in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Her professional career started in Montreal, and her work required her to visit major companies in Québec, Ontario and even the Maritimes. She gave birth to her two children in Montreal. In 2009, she joined the team at Recif 02, Issue table for the feminist groups of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, and was recognized for her contributions. As part of the Issue table, she went on to coordinate the regional council on the status of women. Between 2009 and 2015, Gisele oversaw over fifty projects focused on improving conditions for women and girls. She is very familiar with regional projects on equality, whether on empowerment, women’s entrepreneurship, or women’s representation in positions of power. In 2016, Gisele organized the conference “Pour une gouvernance équitable.” As a citizen, she volunteers with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and holds a seat on the board of the College d’Alma. She has also been a candidate in two federal elections, in 2015 and 2017.
