Isabelle Jacob is a high-pressure welder and worked for five years in the construction industry. She’s head of Action Travail des Femmes (A.T.F.), where she works together with different actors in construction, including unions, to improve services for women working in construction who experience violence and harassment. Isabelle also works for the Syndicat des Cols bleus regroupés de Montréal (S.C.F.P. 301), is a member of their equal access committee and is in charge of responding to harassment complaints. She works with employers of S.C.F.P. members to ensure a greater number of women are hired, particularly in skilled trades. Founder and member of the “Coalition québécoise pour les femmes dans la construction,” which was created to pressure the Quebec Construction Commission to increase the number of women on construction sites. Isabelle also offers conferences on women in non-traditional trades to employability and career counseling professionals. She has been working closely with organizations that offer support to women in non-traditional trades since 1999.
