Jennifer is an advocate for improved health care services for rural survivors of gender based violence. This funding included the development of a crisis housing program to meet the unique, emergent housing needs of older adults in an under resourced rural community. She has trained hundreds of local service providers including police, paramedics, emergency room nurses, physicians, VAW agencies, Child Protection Services and crowns related to the negative health impacts of strangulation. Jennifer has presented locally, regionally, provincially and internationally promoting the needs of survivors of violence and sustainable solutions to providing quality care within rural communities.
