Jocelyn Balzer is the Employment Coordinator for the YWCA Prince Albert-Settlement Services and has been involved in the sector since 2010. Her current role focuses on supporting recently arrived refugee clients to help them prepare for the workforce, find meaningful employment and further develop their skills and abilities. In addition to her work as an employment counselor, Jocelyn has been involved in the creation and monitoring of various programs including a Job Ready English class for Beginner English learners and the creation of a literacy program for stay-at-home mothers that blended essential skills enhancement, workplace readiness and family literacy. Jocelyn holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from the University of Saskatchewan, with a major in Political Science and minor in Entrepreneurship Business. She is very interested in work that focuses on improving access to the labour market for women and newcomers, poverty alleviation strategies and immigration issues. Jocelyn is very excited to be a part of Gender Equality Network and looks forward to participating in the process.
