Nominated by: Maison Isa – CALACS Saguenay
In 2010 I began my career as an outreach worker with women and became a feminist activist. I regularly apply intersectional feminist intervention strategies both in my work and in my community. I am currently an outreach worker and project manager at Maison ISA-CALACS Saguenay, where we take a threefold feminist approach to combating sexual assault: direct intervention, prevention and awareness, and social struggle. Sexual exploitation as a form of gendered sexual violence is one of our major concerns for the region. The project, which is funded by Status of Women Canada and was developed by Maison ISA, will encourage organizations and institutions in the region to reflect collectively on how to create a service path to help women experiencing sexual exploitation and support those who wish to leave prostitution.
