Brenda has worked as an Education Advisor at John Abbott College (JAC) since 2008, specializing in Information & Communication Technology. Brenda holds a Bachelor of Science from McGill University and since 1980 has been involved in the field of Computer Science, starting first with studies in the Bachelor of Computer Science program at Concordia University. This led to employment in the areas of IT Technical Support/Training and an extensive career in Management Information Systems as a Computer Programmer/Systems Analyst in the design and support of college pedagogical and administrative systems. In 2002 Brenda became involved in the coordination/implementation of learning management systems, focusing on the teaching of innovative pedagogical practices and mentoring teachers on blended learning and course design. In addition to being very active within the CEGEP network, Brenda works closely with students, faculty and administrators at the College, providing a human touch to empower people not to be afraid of technology and to be innovative. As an active member of the JAC Women’s Studies and Gender Relations Community, she is very honored to be a GENC woman leader and collaborate with the Atwater Library local project on addressing rape culture on college campuses, offline and online.
