Sandie Pizzuti was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. She attended schools within the HWCDSB, from there attended the University of Western Ontario where she graduated with an Honours Degree in English/French, then went on to complete her Masters in English at the University of Windsor and her Bachelor of Education at the University of Toronto. Sandie has been in education for 28 years, and has had various leadership positions, now serving for the past few years in senior administration. As Superintendent of Education, her portfolio responsibilities are as follows: Curriculum Grades 9-12, Secondary Student Achievement Data. Growing Success: Assessment/ Evaluation (Secondary), Creating Pathways to Success (Secondary), Development and Implementation of Multi-Year Strategic Plan and Board Improvement Plan, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM), Co-Operative Education, Renewed Math Strategy (Secondary), Achieving Excellence in Applied Classrooms, Co-Chair General Principal Meetings, Chair, Secondary Staffing Meetings. Family of Schools: St. Jean de Brebeuf CSS. Sandie tributes the wonderful team that surrounds her and who supports her daily work, especially her secretary, her family of schools principals, consultants, special assignment teachers and the Assistant Superintendents. Sandie has been married to her husband John for 28 years, has 2 sons aged 22 and 24.
