Suzanne Doerge has been Director of the City for All Women Initiative (CAWI) since its founding in 2004. She has coordinated initiatives to foster women`s civic engagement, worked with the City of Ottawa in the development of a Gender Equality Lens, followed by an Equity and Inclusion Lens, provided training in equity and inclusion, and led a national project to enable five cities to work together in developing a national guide for municipalities on equity and inclusion. She has been a speaker at many national forums on the work of CAWI and has designed many workshops for NGO`s, unions and faith communities to analyze social justice issues and take action. The Women`s Wall Workshop, which was designed for a national conference on the feminization of poverty in 2002, is a visual methodology for doing a gender analysis of the economy that has been translated into four languages and continues to be used in countries across the globe. Having lived in Central America, she brings an understanding of working across cultures, identities and social classes that is infused in the work of CAWI. Suzanne holds a Masters in Adult Education from Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.
