The Slaight Family Foundation Ending Gender-Based Violence in Critical Communities Grants 2022
Deadline: March 21, 2022 at 5 p.m. EDT
Grants Overview
The Canadian Women’s Foundation is now accepting proposals for The Slaight Family Foundation Ending Gender-Based Violence in Critical Communities Grants. Approximately 12 grants up to a maximum of $20,000 each will be selected.
The Canadian Women’s Foundation has prioritized gender-based violence prevention granting in rural, remote, and Northern communities, given high rates of abuse, large land mass, and fewer services. But in the pandemic, risk of abuse such as intimate partner violence has spiked in urban centres too, especially for marginalized women, girls, Two Spirit, trans, and non-binary people.
The Slaight Family Foundation Ending Gender-Based Violence in Critical Communities Grant fills the gap with new grants to organizations in high-density urban neighbourhoods serving women, girls, Two Spirit, trans, and non-binary people who are racialized, refugees and newcomers, and/or living with disabilities. This gift represents an essential response that will prevent hundreds of vulnerable people and families from falling through the cracks.
The Canadian Women’s Foundation is grateful for the support of the Slaight Family Foundation in making the Ending Gender-Based Violence in Critical Communities Grants possible.
