The Canadian Women’s Foundation’s website, canadianwomen.org, as well as other associated and linked websites, are written and maintained by the Canadian Women’s Foundation. General viewing and use of these websites are subject to acceptance of the following terms of use.

We provide the websites to support our mandate and work. We aim to provide information to the public that is accessible, current at the time of posting, and reliable.

We reserve the right on our sole discretion to add, remove, modify or otherwise change these Terms of Use at any time. Your continued use of our websites following the any changes mean that you accept the changes. If any change to the Terms is unacceptable to you, you should cease using our websites.

We reserve the right, to add, remove, or modify any content on our website. We also reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to correct errors or omissions to our websites but have no duty to do so. The Terms shall apply to any such changed version of our websites.

Ownership and Permitted Use

The Foundation owns all copyright in the content provided on our websites, including postings, messages, text, graphics, images, and other material, unless otherwise specifically noted. Your use of our websites does not transfer to you any ownership or other rights in the websites or their content. Users of the websites are granted a limited non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use (display or print) content for lawful, personal non-commercial use only, provided the content is not modified and all copyright and other proprietary notices are retained.

Certain words, phrases, names, designs or logos used on the Site may constitute trademarks, service marks or trade names of the Foundation or other entities. No rights are granted to users of our websites in or to such trademarks, service marks or trade names.

“Use” of our websites includes visiting, accessing, or downloading text, data, images, PDFs, videos, learning modules, newsletters, articles, illustrations, animations, games, views, opinions or other materials, including materials submitted by you or other users. “Use” also includes accessing our online giving, event, registration, survey, letter, and sign up portals.

User Conduct

You acknowledge that all information, text, images, audio, video, designs, names, logos, trademarks, data, code or other information, material or content submitted by any user including yourself, whether publicly or privately posted, emailed, transmitted, uploaded or otherwise submitted to us via our websites or social media channels is the sole responsibility of the person from which such content originated.

Please be aware that what is posted online can remain online for many years to come.

You acknowledge and agree that you are entirely responsible for all of your submitted content that you post, email, transmit, upload or otherwise submit via our websites and social media. We do not control the submitted content posted via our websites and do not guarantee the accuracy, integrity, or quality of such submitted content. The Foundation has the right to remove any submitted content in our sole discretion.

We do not respond to harassing, discriminatory, or offensive messages and report them to relevant authorities.

Privacy Policy

We are committed to maintaining the privacy of all individuals who use our websites. We value your trust and understand that this requires that we be transparent and accountable about how we handle the information you choose to share with us.

We do not trade, rent or sell the information of our website users or of those who donate to the Foundation. Read our full Privacy Policy.

Email and Event Registration

Our websites include forms that allow users to make a donation, register for events, RSVP for events, fill out surveys, and more. By voluntarily providing us with this kind of personal information, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of such information for processing your donations, registration, survey responses, and more.

When providing personal information through a third-party website tools we use, such as Eventbrite, SurveyMonkey, NewMode, or Thinkific, you may be subject to different terms and conditions though those websites and their owners and administrators.

When you enrol as a student or subscriber (“learner”) on our related courses, you consent to the collection of personal information, as well as the collection of information on your use of our offerings and our platform.

In the above cases, you also consent to being added to our contact database to receive updates, news of our activities, and to be solicited further for donations and participation in activities and events. You will be given opportunities to request that we no longer send you information or further requests for donations and participation.

At any point in time, if you do not wish to receive any email communications from the Foundation, you may unsubscribe by contacting info@canadianwomen.org.

Donation

When making an online one-time donation to the Foundation, unless clearly specified, you are agreeing to support our general fund and your donation will go where the need is greatest.

By becoming a monthly donor, you are also agreeing to support our general fund and your donation will go to where the need is greatest. You will be added to the Rosemary Brown Giving Collective mailing list unless you have previously opted out of these communications.

When making a donation to the Foundation, we will also add your name to our public list of donors, unless you opt to be anonymous.

Links

Our websites contain links to other websites not under the ownership or operation of the Foundation. We do not control, recommend, or endorse those websites and are not responsible for them or their content, products, services, policies, or practices. If you use any of these websites, you do so at your own risk.

Agreement

By accepting these Terms of Use, you agree to assume liability for your actions on our websites. You will abide by all policies for these websites, as well as all applicable laws, including provincial and federal laws of Canada.

If you choose not to accept these Terms of Use, you may close this window now and leave our websites.
