The Canadian Women’s Foundation Leadership Institute
Strong leaders build strong organizations and communities. Together, they create positive change for women across Canada.
This philosophy inspired the Canadian Women’s Foundation to establish a national women’s leadership institute in partnership with the Coady Institute at St. Francis Xavier University.
Launched in June 2012, this three-year pilot institute has built the leadership capacity of emerging and mid-career women leaders working on community economic development (CED) issues across the country.
2016 UPDATE: Many of the Leadership Institute graduates are now working on the forefront of social change--using their skills in a diverse range of organizations across the country. Download the alumni directory to meet these inspiring leaders!
Leadership Development – A Critical Issue
Our goal is to build the capacity of young emerging female leaders to fill future leadership positions. Because professional development opportunities for women leaders are limited, leadership development strategies are even more critical to strengthening the sector.
