Why you? Tireless supporters like you can help us raise funds in your own creative ways in your own communities. You can rally friends, family, and colleagues to help support vulnerable women and girls, and ensure we don’t lose ground on gender equality.
How can your fundraiser make a difference NOW?
- The pandemic is intensifying the need for the services and programs we fund for women, girls, trans, Two-Spirit and non-binary people.
- Women have borne the brunt of and those living in abusive relationships may be facing an even higher risk of gender-based violence.
- Since the pandemic hit, women-serving organizations are facing higher expenses and reduced ability to raise funds. In fact, 80% of service providers we told us they were concerned about their ability to continue offering services.
- Organizations across the country need our help NOW to support the most vulnerable women and girls through this crisis and its aftermath.
How can your event support prevention of gender-based violence?
In partnership with The Body Shop Canada, the Canadian Women’s Foundation is amplifying the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, an international campaign that runs from Nov. 25 to Dec. 10, 2020.
You can host an event – such as a virtual film screening – specifically to help raise awareness and funds to end gender-based violence in Canada.

How can you host a fundraiser safely during the pandemic?
There are many ways of fundraising either individually or with a group through online events.
Whether you choose to fundraise through a physical fitness challenge, a birthday or anniversary milestone, your online book club, or by hosting a virtual trivia night, you can adapt the event to suit your lifestyle and interests.
